CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fifteen people were injured after a school bus went down an embankment and into a house in southeast Charlotte Tuesday morning, according to WBTV.
The Charlotte Fire Department says it happened around 9 a.m. on Briardale Drive at Brook Canyon Drove, just off of W T Harris Boulevard.
Officials say the bus went off the road and hit a parked car before continuing down the hill, hitting a house. The driver was briefly trapped.
Fifteen people suffered minor injuries and there is no word on how many of those people were students.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg School officials, parents of the students onboard are being notified. Counselors will be sent to the school if they are needed.
