New Hampshire wrapped up its spring season this weekend marking the end of the 2012 spring season for all CAA Football squads.  Below is a recap from the end-of-the-spring action in Durham.

DURHAM, N.H. (April 5, 2012) -- In the ongoing battle to claim the starting quarterback role, James Brady (Deer Park, N.Y.) passed for 300 yards and three touchdowns, and Andy Vailas (Bedford, N.H.) ran for a 90-yard score to highlight the offense's 96-46 victory against the defense in Saturday's University of New Hampshire spring Blue-White Football Game at Cowell Stadium.

The scrimmage, which marked the official end of spring camp, featured a modified scoring system that credited the offense with additional points for big plays (20-or-more yards) and back-to-back first downs. The defense accrued points through sacks, tackles for loss, three-and-outs and forcing missed field goals and PATs.

Brady (13-for-17, 300 yards/eight rushes-39 yards, TD) connected on a 70-yard touchdown toss to junior Tim Farina (Campton, N.H./two catches-79 yards, TD), a 67-yard scoring strike to redshirt freshman Jared Allison (Cliffwood, N.J./three receptions-93 yards, TD) and a one-yard TD hookup with senior Joey Orlando (Bethlehem, Pa.), who led the receiving corps with four receptions for 101 yards and two TDs.

Vailas (2 of 7, 18 yards, TD) found Jimmy Giansante (Jefferson Hills, Pa./three catches-22 yards, TD) for a 10-yard scoring pass, and the sophomore QB provided the game's longest play from scrimmage when he scrambled out of pressure on a 3rd-and-20 play and dashed 90 yards for the game's opening touchdown. Vailas finished as the game's leading rusher with 84 yards on two carries.

Redshirt freshman QB Sean Goldrich (West Haven, Conn.) went 10 of 15 for 147 yards and a 32-yard TD pass to Orlando while chalking up 61 yards on 10 carries with an 11-yard TD scamper.

Other notable running performances were turned in by sophomore running back Jimmy Owens (seven carries-25 yards), who scored on a one-yard rush, and sophomore wide receiver R.J. Harris (Odenton, Md.), who notched 52 yards on three carries to go along with three catches for 40 yards.

Senior linebacker Michael Bradley (Concord, N.H.) registered a game-high seven tackles, including one tackle for loss, and sophomore defensive end Robbie Zauck (Ocean City, N.J.) tallied two sacks among his four tackles. Sophomore cornerback Steven Thames (Fort Washington, Md.) collected five tackles and a blocked PAT, while junior defensive end Cody Muller (Telford, Pa.) and redshirt freshman Danny Riley (Danielsville, Pa.) each recorded a sack.
