Getting Ready Photos - 5 Tips to Ensure Things Run Smoothly

The morning of any wedding is pretty hectic, no matter how much you plan and prepare. We know how important it is to stay on schedule, but also making sure you are getting everything you asked for on the Big Day. Here are Five Tips to help ensure that your Getting Ready Photos are what Photography Dreams are made of!

1. Create A List of Must-Have Photos

Creating a list of Must-Have photos that can be given to your photographer before the Big Day can really help out that morning. Perhaps you want your Maid of Honour zipping up your gown, or your Mom putting on a family heirloom necklace - these are moments you certainly want captured.

2. Lay Out Your Accessories

Having your wedding accessories laid out the night before - jewellery, perfume, shoes, a copy of your invitation and any other sentimental items - makes the process much easier for both yourself, and the photographer. (Your photographer will love you in fact!) This way you aren't running around trying to find all of your special things while they are there.

3. Turn Off Your Cellphone

We know you want to snap some selfies on the Big Day, but let this be the job for your Bridesmaids. Your phone is a distraction and between hair, makeup, gift exchanges and sipping mimosas, there is not much time for social media on the Big Day. Plus, these organic moments with your girls make for the most beautiful photographs.

4.  Stick To The Timeline

Making sure you are staying on track the morning of the wedding is key. Having your hair and makeup done on time lays the foundation for the rest of the day. If you think your hair will take longer than the usual hour designated for the Bride, be sure to let everyone know (this includes the time for the photographer to arrive).

5. Relax!

We know how long you have planned for this Big Day! Whatever may happen that morning, Let It Be, as the Beatles once said. It is so important to relax and enjoy the moment! If you are feeling tense or anxious, it will show through in the photos. Enjoy the company surrounding you, and remember to breathe!

We hope that these 5 tips will be beneficial for all Brides on the Big Day. We can't say it enough - Relax, and Enjoy the Moment! It all happens so fast, so be sure to absord yourself fully into every second of the day.
