eSight for the Visually Impaired
Donation protected
For the past eight years of my life, I have had glaucoma and been legally blind—I feel I have missed out on seeing a lot familiar faces and new places.
My son was a professional football player with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and even though I went to many of his games, I struggled to enjoy the game because I could not see the action. I couldn’t see him on the field during the game, and the only way I could enjoy seeing him play was at home trying to watch tapes. Also, my daughter is a wonderful author with several books published and more to come. I love to read her stories, but struggle to get through them with the help of an eReader device my family has helped me purchase. I would love to read her books for myself so I can better connect with her works.
When I first started to lose my vision, I became very frustrated, but with prayer, a good attitude, family and friends, thank God I soon regained hope—I knew I had to be strong and that there were going to be brighter days ahead.
And then... I discovered Nueyes, a pair of electronic glasses that allow me to SEE! When I tried the eyewear, I was shocked into speechlessness—after years of blindness, I had vision again! I could read and actually see my family’s faces. I was so happy to see again that I knew I had to have these glasses.
Now, I’m fundraising for a pair of my own. They are pretty pricey at $5,995 but I can see so much better that I feel they are more than worth it. I can’t wait until I get my eSight and neither can my family. The glasses give me so much more independence—I can enjoy my family and friends the way I use to!
