How Beyoncé Inspired a Building

Who run the (architecture) world? Beyoncé, of course.

Though Beyoncé’s persuasion has yet to build a nation, it has inspired the construction of at least one building. The curvaceous new Premier Tower, located in Melbourne, Australia, and designed by the architecture firm Elenberg Fraser, was modeled after the singer’s famous form.

To experience the architects’ inspiration firsthand, watch the music video for Beyoncé’s song “Ghost.” According to reports, the building’s fluid, wavelike silhouette is inspired by a movement best viewed at the 1:15-minute mark.

There is also, of course, a scientific aspect to the building’s design: With the location’s climate restraints, the structure’s compelling shape is actually the optimal form for stability.

Positioned in front of the city’s major railway station, the Premier Tower will serve both retail and residential purposes. As for this ultramodern, aluminum-and-steel homage to Beyoncé, we’re crazy in love.
