Thirteen fashion designers worked with Epson and their printing capabilities to create one-of-kind looks. Even though this was a showcase for the designers, it was Epson and it's technology that stole the show. The printers that the designer used were the Epson's SureColor F-Series which is make it's really accessible for creatives to have their idea become tangible. As you can see in the below pics, the colors vibrant, bright and crisp.

Where: Skylight Clarkson Square
Overall: There’s a reason that after the first three looks from the Son Jung Wan show I knew I was going to take delight in this show. The S/S ’18 collection was inspired by the French Rivera, dope location. I posted about the French Rivera before on Chic Inspector. The bold vibrant colors of the French Rivera is hard to miss and the Son Jung Wan collection really captured that. Beside the colors, Son Jung Wan executed the technique of embellishments that created depth and texture. I never been to the French Rivera but if the Mediterranean coastline is a glimpse like this collection I need to go there asap!

Inspection Report: Miguel Vieira FW' 17 |
Where: Pier 59 Studios, NYC
Overall: The name Miguel Vieira may not ring a bell to the masses here in the States, but showing in New York Fashion Week is a start. Speaking of starts, the start of his Fall/Winter'17 Mens and Womens collection demonstrated his love of clean and structure. All of the white looks were the first to hit the runway in form of outwear, long coats and even a blazer-bomber jacket hybrid that really stood out. It transitioned into all black looks but this time, there were techniques of pleating, lazer cuts and ruching in the details.

Inspection Report: Claudia Li F/W '17 |
Where: Artbeam Studios NYC
Overall: Sometimes you have to escape reality nowadays and that's what designer Claudia Li did for her Fall/Winter collection. “Take me away to a different place and time” was the theme and rightfully so. This push to escape reality come through with exaggerated shapes, triangular shapes to be exact. This can be seen in the sleeves, lapels and cuffs. Was the triangle shape symbolic? Apparently, triangles are known to shape of mystery!

Inspection Report: Nicholas K FW17 Show |
Who: Nicholas K Fall/Winter '17 Runway Show
Where: Skylight Clarkson Square, NYC
Overall: Does history repeat itself? Well it certainly seem so as designers Nicholas and Christopher Kunz of Nicholas K decided to tap into the communal diversity and unity of the 90s. The sideway berets and the shiny oversized parkas definitely was reminiscent of the 90s, which i loved. However the stand out looks were the monochromatic layered outfits with wrap shirts and dresses. In this times, I appreciate Nicholas K for tapping into the political climate that happened in the 90 which translated into the clothes and now in 2017 revisiting this sentiment is very new and needed.

Overall: Major kudos to Veronika Brusa for doing double duty as designer and stylist for the Berenik S/S'17 runway show. We all know that designers usually hire outside help to style their show and Veronika wanted full control of the concept that she wanted her showgoers to see. The collection was effortless in free-flowing silhouettes that gives a relaxed sporty feel. The star of the collection was the digital cloudscape print by artist Jack Hardwicke that was a combination of summery and feminine shapes and colors.

Overall: To start New York Fashion Week off, it's always good to view a designer that has strong point of view. Designer Claudia Li is not scared to show love to the notion of oversized. The oversized came in the cuffs, pants and blouses. For Spring/Summer '17 she intertwined masculine boxy silhouettes and feminine soft silhouettes giving the collection a well balanced of showing of empowerment on a woman's body. She also took a step ahead from last season and introduced newness through embroidery techniques, color and draping.

Inspection Report: Desigual AW'16 |
Who: Desigual Fall/Winter '16
Where: Skylight at Moynihan Station, NYC
Overall: I love attending the Desigual show because they always send us on a journey. The journey for Fall/Winter '16 was sending us on the ever-changing urban metropolis where technology, trends and a global culture now are one. There were clashing prints of paisley very reminiscent of the 60s, wide leg pants, ultra-feminine dresses that were flowy, mini and midi all the variations anyone would like. However a going trend through this collection is the element of velvet, this fabric was used from the hats to the pants. Desigual definitely took us a journey of having pieces that anyone living in a major city might need.
