Modest Mouse have another new studio album on the way, and this one could be “really strange”

Next week, Modest Mouse will release Strangers to Ourselves, the indie rockers’ sixth album to date and first in eight years. However, it looks like fans won’t have to wait nearly as long for the follow-up. In a recent interview with hmv, frontman Isaac Brock revealed the band is already prepping to drop a new LP.

“I’m pretty far along with the next one as it is. I went in to making this one with two records in mind,” Brock explained. “It’ll be released as quickly as it’s legally allowed to be. It’s a partner to [Strangers to Ourselves].”

In a separate interview with Relix, Brock suggested that the album may be “something really strange.” Could that include material from Modest Mouse’s much talked about recording sessions with Big Boi? We shall see.
