Watch West Brom's Tony Pulis being prank-called by a joker from Northern Ireland who pretends to be Bolton boss Neil Lennon

The West Bromich Albion head coach was left a voicemail by the joker from Northern Ireland who pretended to be Lurgan-born Neil Lennon.

He left a message asking Pulis if he could take Gareth McAuley (35) on loan.

When the reigning Premier League manager of the year phoned him back - the shocked prankster proceeded to record a two-minute conversation with him.

The Welsh manager is said to have phoned back and believes he is speaking to the Bolton boss and starts to explain why he can't take centre-back McAuley on loan because he is "playing each week".

Pulis then continues by heaping praise on the Northern Ireland international defender calling him a "big deal" and a "top lad".

He then suggests other defenders the fake Bolton manager could sign.

The calls ends with Pulis telling the fake Neil Lennon to keep in touch and to "give him a ring" if he needs anything - the prank caller then wishes him all the best for the season.

The clip was filmed on Saturday evening by Blain Morrison and his friends on a street in Limavady.

Blain (27) told the Daily Mirror: "I have just got a mutual friend who had Pulis' number. He played under Pulis.

"It was the first time I had pranked anyone famous. I thought he was going to figure out it wasn't Neil Lennon so I was surprised.

"I just played along with it. I thought, because of my Northern Irish accent, Neil Lennon would be a good choice."

In a statement West Brom confirmed it was the real Tony Pulis who was duped by the phone call.

It said: "We are aware of it but as far as we're concerned it's a non-story."
