Description

On December 1, 2014 from 14:30-15:30 Eastern, Orchestras Canada/Orchestres Canada will host the first in our Digital 101 webinar series, via Adobe Connect. All you need to take part is a high speed internet connection, and either a phone line or a headset that you can plug into your computer. (See below for technical and log-in information - if you signed up on December 1, you'll have missed the last minute reminder, and you might want to cut and paste them somewhere from whence you can retrieve them 10 minutes before we get going!)

This first session--lasting 1 hour--focuses on the Canadian Federation of Musicians audio and video recording agreements that are currently available to orchestras. Our key presenters are Mark Tetreault, Director of Symphonic Services at the Canadian Federation of Musicians, and OC consultant Randy Barnard.

Mark will review the current available contracts for orchestral recordings. This will include the Sound Recording Labour Agreement (SRLA), Symphonic Limited Pressing, Live Recording (SOBRLA), Concert DVD, and the OCSM Media Guidelines (including Internet Streaming, Archival Streaming and Downloads). Randy Barnard will present basic budget outlines for each of the options based on small, medium and large orchestra numbers.
