Roush unveils 2015 Mustang lineup with V-6 and V-8 ‘stages’

Roush Performance wants to leave its own mark on the 2015 Ford Mustang, so it is referring to the two models it’s customizing as “stages.” However, there isn’t much of a difference besides a larger engine: Stage 1 features a turbo-charged Ford 2.3L V-6 EcoBoost engine and Stage 2 is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0L V-8.

While more engine power is nothing to scoff at , when it comes to customized cars, it’s as much about the looks as it is about the brawn. The body kit on the 2015 Roush Mustang is a marvel for gazing with its five-blade upper grille, unique Roush fascia, high-flow lower grille with driving lamp and a front chin splitter. The Roush Performance team consulted with its race team specialists on the features and to come up with the most aerodynamic vehicle possible.

Both Stage 1 and Stage 2 Mustangs are outfitted with quad-tip performance exhaust system and Quicksilver 20-inch Roush wheels in specially co-developed Roush/Cooper tires.

The Roush touch is evident inside the Mustang cabin with no detail left spared. The embroidered floor mats and serialized dash badge leave a proprietary touch, while options include a Roush gauge cluster and leather seating and Recaro seats.

The 2015 Roush Mustangs are street-legal in all 50 U.S. states and will be initially available in only manual transmission when they arrive at Mustang dealerships by mid-October. The automatic transmission versions will be rolled out at a later, unspecified date, according to the company.
