Another cold night prompts alerts in Metro Detroit before temps swing upward
A freeze warning will be in effect for Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Oakland, and Washtenaw counties overnight through 8 a.m. Friday, April 26.
A frost advisory will be in effect for the same duration for Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Sanilac, St. Clair, and Wayne counties.
TONIGHT:
Expect mostly clear skies. Temperatures will fall to or near freezing in some communities, particularly farther inland. Temperatures will be around 32 degrees in Ann Arbor, Flint, Lapeer, and Sandusky. Lows will be in the upper 30s in Detroit. Winds will be out of the east and southeast at around 5 mph.
TOMORROW (FRIDAY):
If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of people planning to descend on Downtown Detroit for the second day of the NFL Draft, plan on temperatures to be nearly 10 degrees warmer. Highs will be in the mid 60s. Skies will go from mostly sunny in the morning to partly cloudy in the afternoon. Clouds will continue to increase through the evening. Winds will be out of the east-southeast at 5 to 15 mph.
TOMORROW NIGHT:
It will be mostly cloudy. Showers will start to move in from the west around midnight. Winds will be out of the southeast at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
SATURDAY:
A warm front will sweep across the area in the morning and boost afternoon temperatures into the mid 70s. It will be breezy with scattered rain showers, especially in the morning. A few thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
SUNDAY:
It will be mostly cloudy with the chance of a few showers. Highs will be in the upper 70s to 80 degrees. The chance of showers will continue into the night with lows in the lower 60s.
The normal high through Saturday is 63 degrees, and the normal low is 43 degrees.
