City of Kelowna sued for slip and fall injury incident

Kelowna Law Courts. Global News

KELOWNA – The City of Kelowna was negligent in ensuring the parking lot was reasonably safe.

That’s the allegation in a B.C. Supreme Court civil law suit filed by a West Kelowna woman.

Gloria Ghisolfi says she was walking through the short-term parking lot at the Kelowna airport on January 16th when she slipped and fell because of ice on the ground.

It’s claimed Ghisolfi’s right elbow was fractured and she continues to suffer pain and loss of enjoyment of life.

“As a result of the Fall, the Plaintiff has been less able to manage household chores including, but not limited to yard work and general household chores and maintenance,” states the Notice of Civil Claim which describes the parking lot as having a “dangerously icy and slippery surface”.

Transport Canada is also named in the court document.
